Earth is a big place. I mean really big. No one on this earth can explore all the places on it. Its is more bizarre that you can even imagine. We have made a list of rare phenomena on earth which are so rare and unimaginable that you will not believe.

1.Dirty thunderstorms


Also known as Volcanic Lightning, Dirty thunderstorms are lightening sparks during volcanic eruptions within clouds of volcanic ash.


2.Flammable Ice Bubbles

These are Beautiful patterns of frozen bubbles trapped in Canada lake. Made up of methane gas they are highly flammable. They are made up of methane trapped inside the lake. Sometimes beauty can be dangerous too.

3.The Catumbo lightening

It is a continuous (high frequency) lightning from a near-daily thunderstorm complex that forms in the Catatumbo River. Electrical conductivity of the clouds, which cause these extended lightning strikes which can upto last 10 hours.

4.The Sardine run


Every year, between the months of May and July, many millions of silvery sardines travel north from the cold southern oceans off South Africa’s Cape Point forming this huge cluster of fishes moving together.

5. Lenticular clouds


A lenticular cloud is a lens-shaped cloud that normally develops on the downwind side of a mountain or mountain range. This occurs when stable, moist air flows over a mountain, creating a series of oscillating waves.

6. Auroras


The Aurora is an incredible light show caused by collisions between electrically charged particlesreleased from the sun that enter the earth’s atmosphere and collide with gases such as oxygen and nitrogen.The lights are seen around the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres.

7. Coloured Mountains (Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park in Gansu,China)


The vivid mountains are the result of mineral deposits and red sandstone from over 24 million years ago. Layers formed on top of one another, creating the colourful patterns of rock strata.

8. Morning glory clouds


The Morning Glory cloud is a rare meteorological phenomenon consisting of cylindrical cloud, occasionally observed in different locations around the world. The wave often occurs as an amplitude-ordered series of waves forming bands of roll clouds.

9. Undulatus Asperatus


These are irregular shaped clouds formed due to high-level winds, shaping vapour into the waves and swirls.
